advent reflection ~ day 16
When the time arrived for Elizabeth to have her child, she gave birth. ~ Luke 1:57
Not one of my children arrived on their “due date.” On the contrary, I began to feel labor pains a week before or a few days after the dates that the doctor had calculated. Our babies were born when they were ready to be born. Their first cries were heard at a time appointed by God.
Sometimes we want God to give us an exact date when he will act, a due date. But God’s plan always unfolds at just the right time, as Saint Elizabeth knew well.
Are you waiting for God to answer a prayer?
Be comforted. His answer will come at an appointed time.
Though it’s hard to patient, put your trust in God.
His timing is perfect.
