Mary’s Way: The Power or Entrusting Your Child to God
Judy Landrieu Klein, Mary’s Way: The Power of Entrusting Your Child to God.
While Judy’s book centers on the spiritual power of mothers who pray and who entrust their children and families to Jesus, the real heart of the book is the Fiat of Mary from the Annunciation through Calvary to the Resurrection. Mary was completely surrendered to Jesus and God’s will. It is Mary’s surrender that Judy will emphasize as the saving grace for mothers (and grandmothers), whether physical mothers or spiritual mothers.
The book is structured into chapters of personal meditations on the Mysteries of the Rosary as Judy lived them in her own life events. Her powerful stories are arranged like crystal rosary beads which shine as the light strikes them. And how much light there is within this reflective book! It’s impossible to read her memories of her life as a mother, as well as the lives of her husband, children, and family, and not to see her response to the grace God pours out on her and her whole family. Her knowledge of theology and spirituality as applied to each circumstance and situation is presented in simple terms, explanations which connect to her story to your own memories.
Each chapter has a different part of her story, followed by a brief “Ponder” section which asks you questions to connect and evaluate your life story with hers, and concludes with a Prayer, a specific and truly inspired prayer focused on the lessons to be learned from that story. As you read, you connect your own family events and experiences of being wife, sister, friend, mother with Judy’s. You hear God speaking his gentle invitation to surrender your life to him.
Judy is not only an accomplished writer; she is also a dedicated and informed Catholic, a prayer warrior, and a theologian. Judy’s commitment to Christ is crowned by Louis de Monfort’s “Total Consecration to Jesus Through Mary,” and she gently suggests that you make that same consecration. After all, it’s Mary’s Way to Jesus.
